This is a great game! Very long and challenging. If you are not at a high level, then forget about certain areas. You could spend hours trying increase your level! Only gripe is when you die, you lose half of your hard earned gold! |

This game is a really good game and I am a fan of the games, however, this one seems WAY more about leveling up than the others and in this one you spend 80-90% of the time leveling up, however if you have patience the game is actually kind of fun (unless your unlucky and enemies always spawn you into battle, about every two steps!) I have also heard (but I don't know) that this game has a REWARDING ending. |

Not really, but this game-Dragon Warrior- is a Classic! It is a must have for rpg fans and fans of NES games. This is one of the games that started it all! I was surprised at how inexpensive it was, but I'm not going to argue with a great deal! Also, delivery was extremely prompt and the game, itself, was in superb condition! Thanks Lukie Games! You guys make finding old games for a new generation of gamers so easy! Woohoo! Five stars and Two thumbs up... when their not glued to the A/B buttons and the D-pad that is. |

This is one of the first games I purchased with my nintendo and trust me it was hard then. I was stationed in Hawaii (army) and I stayed up plenty of nights playing this trying to beat it. A little tougher now but still pretty awesome. |

One of the earliest entries to the rpg genre, but that doesn't stop it from being a classic. It does feature only one character, a shock to rpg lovers of the more recent generation; who functions as a warrior but with a little magic thrown in. Your adventure spans across many areas, speckled with towns to visit and several enemies to battle. Your initial quest is to save the princess but the true one is to stop the evil Dragonlord. This game was Skyrim over 20 years in advance. |

| Dragon Warrior |

Dragon Warrior is an rpg game made by Enix. In Japan, rpg games were very popular. The US was mostly unaware of a typical "jrpg" until Dragon Warrior came out. The game is certainly a classic, but most agree that it hasn't aged well. It's still worth playing, but GOD is it slow paced. A great add to any game collection. Lukie Games must be crazy for pricing it so low! :) |

| Addictive, must-buy RPG |
| |
As others here have suggested - this is one of the original blue-prints for the modern RPG. It's beyond addictive and a must-buy for RPG fanatics or those just wanting to get into the genre.
Couple it with the early Ultima games and you'll have a relatively inexpensive set of GREAT Nes RPGs. |

| BEWARE! This game is a gateway drug! |
| |
The game that started a Genre. It was the first of it's kind. In some parts of the world it's many times bigger than the biggest RPG game in the US, Final Fantasy. Later games in the series even caused laws to be formed (in Japan). Google "Dragon Quest law", there are lots of sites discussing it.
It's a simple game with a simple story. That makes it fun. No convoluted stories to wrestle with.
The story is simple, the Dragonlord is growing in power and you need to defeat him.
The game is challenging enough to even players that have played RPGs for a while. For example: To find Erdrick's armor and token, you need to talk to npcs and remember what they say.
Give it a try, I doubt you would be disappointed.

| The first real RPG |
| |
I'll never forget the first time I got Dragon Warrior...It blew my mind.
This is the quintessential beginning of RPG's on the NES. You get a hero, name him, and begin an odyssey of traveling throughout the land, gathering information from townsfolk, practicing magic spells, fighting dragons, brandishing custom weapons and ultimately fighting the most evil being in Alefgard...The Dragonlord. Play is turn based and utilizes and easy to use save feature when you just can't play anymore. |

| Simple, straightforward and enjoyable RPG |
| |
Dragon Warrior didn't become one of the best selling RPG series of all time for no reason. The first entry in the long running series is a simple role playing game, even for the mid-80's. Borrowing in many areas from other games of the time like Ultima the original Dragon Warrior is a normal save the kingdom/fight a bunch of monsters and level up adventure but well executed and fun to play. If you are expecting a Final Fantasy 4/6/7 or Ultima 4 type of story you'll be disappointed but if you want to explore, level, and beat up some slimes then you are in for a treat! |
