The label on this adapter says it is 9V DC/680mA. I measured it with a multimeter and it is putting out 17V DC! Luckily the NES isn't too picky about power supplies, because it does work. Although since the original NES power supply is actually 9V AC/1300mA, using this one long term makes me nervous since it is so far out of spec. I will probably look for a different AC adapter.

Got this mainly for use on my SNES that was missing its adapter. Worked like a charm. But the package has a bit of false advertising. Do NOT purchase this for use on a model 1 Genesis console! It will not work. It will work with the NES/SNES consoles but not with a Model 1 Genesis no matter what the package says. Why? The NES power supply polarity is opposite that of a Model 1 Genesis. If there was a way to switch it then maybe it would work but the power supply is only providing half of what a Genesis OEM power supply puts out. For SNES/NES this works. Avoid for Model 1 Genesis consoles unless you purposely want to fry it.

This adapter is not cheap feeling and has some weight to it. It also does the job! I had a 3rd party Genesis adapter that didn't work, but this one came through in spades.
