Being completely honest, i only got this game for the multi-tap as well as it being my first multiplayer game on the ps1 (unless you count Red Asphalt but that requires 2 box-type PS1s (with the actual reset button) a second copy of the game, another tv, and a link cable). i'm pretty sure this is the one i played more than likely the demo version of years ago so i know i'll get into it at some point.
i did play it though... just the first day i got it. it seems to get more complex the longer you play but it you can keep things simple if you want. if you get hit you'll stay on the sidelines and can throw bombs in if you want, i do believe this feature can also be removed... but i like it.
interestingly enough i think kids may really enjoy this game. it was one of the games i let my nephew play along with wild 9 and portal... i'm pretty sure he played this the most.
by no means is it perfect, but for the right people it can be.
