Perfect
Lukiegames rocks. Loved BoF 1 and 2 on the SNES. Graphics for it on the PS2 are amazing. Another great buy.

Underrated
Game came in great condition. This game doesn't feel like a Breath of Fire game. More like a survival horror rpg, and i'm having a blast!

A Very Underrated Gem
Just picked this up for the first time and absolutely fell in love with it. BoF: Dragon Quarter is unfortunately a game that came out at the wrong time, and in the wrong series. It has very little to do with the previous entries, and you can tell the developers really wanted to go for something new and fresh here. I think they succeeded brilliantly, but by doing so they alienated most of the series' longtime fans. I'm sure the difficulty didn't help either--and make no mistake, if you go into this thinking you're gonna get a casual RPG experience, boy are you going to be surprised! This one doesn't pull any punches, and that is also intentional on the developers' part. It's meant to be replayed multiple times (you retain many key things each time you choose to restart, making further progress possible), and in order to get the complete story (which ain't too shabby, either!) you have to play it more than once. Look, I can gush on and on about this game, so I'll just say that if you're looking for a casual gaming experience, this ain't it. But if you're looking for a challenging game with deep mechanics, this one's got you covered. Just know what you're getting into before you buy it. Read some other reviews, look up some guides if you're interested, and keep in mind that this one requires a certain degree of patience, and perseverance.

Play this entire series
If you like RPGs and haven't played the Breath of Fire series then you've skipped an entire chapter in gaming history. Fix that.

Great Game, worked wonderfully. Gives hours of great play time. Worked and had all the original paperwork with it. Love the entire Breath of Fire line of games.

Most Underrated Game on the PS2
This game is the most underrated game on the PS2. If you purchase this game thinking you'll get another classic Breath of Fire, you will be sorely disappointed. This is the reason it received so much flak when it was first released (and possibly why we haven't had a BoF game since). The game has a few elements that puts it apart from the other games in the franchise. For starters, it is not based in a fantasy realm filled with swords and sorcery. The world of BoF5 is setup in an scifi underground world where humans have escaped the, now uninhabitable, surface. You play Ryu who is a mercenary that deals with monsters that venture too close to human sectors. His life takes a drastic turn when he meets a girl called Nina that has, wait for it, wings! Duuuh duuuh duuuUUUuuuUUUuuuh! Another fun deviation is the battle system -- it is no longer based on random encounters having your party on the side and the monsters on the other. BoF5 uses a turn based strategic battle system that doesn't switch over to a different screen. The system isn't too innovative but it is definitely an improvement over the bland "attack, attack, attack, heal" system we are accustomed to. Now, that being said, the best part of this game is the meter. If you are familiar with the BoF franchise you will know that Ryu is somehow connected to dragons and he can usually transform into them at one point in the story. In this particular title Ryu can do the same. What's different is that his body cannot really handle this power and if you abuse it you will die. Not reload the game die but die die... as in start-over-from-the-beginning die. This sounds extremely frustrating but it actually adds a lot of charm to the game. This feature immerses you so much more into this world and you feel a lot more invested in his character. You will find yourself asking "can I beat this boss without using my dragon powers?" "Is it worth it?" "Will I make it to the end?" followed by "Holy deep friend tomato, that was so cool!" This game a MUST play. One of my favourite games on the PS2, do not pass it up!
