Doom SNES Super Nintendo Game Cartridge Cleaned Tested and Guaranteed to Work!

Welcome to Doom, soldier. Now shut up and start fighting because there's no time to waste! We're talking total war against the forces of evil with the only thing standing between civilization and the end of everything as we know it is you -- one angry Marine with a handgun and a bad attitude. This is the full-auto, 16-meg faithful version of the PC original. Which means all the same monsters, levels, weapons and surprises are around for a screaming fast descent into danger with sudden death lurking around every corner. Strap on your ammo and prepare to spit lead. Because now's your chance to be a hero. Or die trying.

Love it. Graphics aren't what they are today, but they don't need to be. I fully enjoyed this game in all its 16 bit glory.

The best and the worst
Doom is without doubt the best game that was made for the SNES but it is also the worst version of Doom that was made. The graphics aren't as good as the other versions and the controls suck. What's even worse is that it forces the player to play the last two episodes on the harder skill levels. The 3rd and final episode forces the player to play it on the hardest skill level which makes it almost impossible to play. Yes, it's true that the SNES Doom has more levels than the Sega 32X Doom but I still don't care much for the SNES version. When it was released in 1995, it cost $65.00. I waited until it was lowered to $20.00 before I bought it. The Playstation 1 Doom is much better than the SNES version. If you own a PS1, PS2 or the original PS3, buy Doom for it instead.

my husband loves this game, especially for the super nintendo, and it just so happens to be the blood red case edition. he doesnt really see how you can be an FPS fan if you havent played the super nintendo version of this game.

Doom itself is a amazing game, and has probably been ported to every console. But honestly, this port does not do the game justice. The gameplay is slow and choppy, the music is kinda mediocre, and the graphics are just meh. Now that may make this game sound terrible, BUT there is one huge plus to owning this game. It come on a BLOOD RED cartridge that can brighten any snes collection and draw the eye. Not perfect, but totally worth a look at and great for collectors, but casual players will probably find more enjoyment in the xbla or ps3 ports, which are perfect ports of the pc version, with smooth console controls.

Play it on PC instead...
The controls are horrible, the image doesn't fill the screen, and the resolution of that image is obviously less than 320x240. It's hard to see anything that would be more than 20ft in front of you. At least the music & sound are alot better than the Genesis version.
