Killzone

I remember when this was being hyped back in the day as a Halo killer. It was supposed to be a system seller for the PlayStation 2. Instead...what fans got was a mediocre FPS at best. The controls are sluggish (sit down with the "but it's for realism" arguments, those are just delusional people making excuses). The game isn't very good. It's also not very bad. It's just...meh. I'm wagering the hype is what sold enough versions to warrant a sequel. This is a game you'll play through and completely forget about within 3 months. Unless you're a diehard FPS fan, or a dev wondering what mistakes to avoid, there are way too many excellent FPS options to bother with Killzone (everything said here also is relevant to Killzone HD). My condolences to those who opted for a Sony system to get Killzone instead of an Xbox to play Halo.

I freaking LOVE this game, and it came fine, but unfortunately my silver slim Ps2 apparentally doesn't work with it, so beware anyone who has a slim and is buying this IT ONLY WORKS ON THE OG PS2! :'(

Whenever I think of the Playstation 2 I think of this game. It just embodies what the PS2 was going for, a more gritty and somewhat mature audience. The series really shows it's strength in Killzone 2 and 3, but this game is where it all started.
