Lawnmower Man

Simple game that surprises with its gameplay and challenge.

I played this game all the time as a kid. I still play it now. I will tell you that it is hard as hell, I have a really hard time getting past what I call level 3, its a gas station where you fight a man made of fire. I am rating this 5 stars, because rating this crime 1 star simply because of a cover is not fair. It is not a space shooter. The game has 2 parts to every level. The first part is a bit of a run and gun. Jump over cars that try to run you over, there are even IQ machines as a mini game, still can't figure those out. If you collect enough CDs, you get your VR suit, which gives you an extra hit, other one hit and you're gone. The second part is a Virtual Reality game, inspired by the VR games from the movie. The VR starts with just flying, and get slightly more difficult until you add guns into the VR as well. Graphics during the running part is nothing special, but the VR graphics are much more impressive.

For those who don't know, 'The Lawnmower Man' is sci-fi film from the early 90's that was inspired (I guess?) by a Stephen King short story. As far as video games based off movies go, this is one of the better ones. Music and graphics are pretty good, and you even get to use the FX chip. The only drawback: it's pretty damn hard. Still, it's better than any game based on 'The Lawnmower Man' should be.

The cover for this game is just frightening and makes no sense. What the hell am i looking at. The also makes no sense what so ever but from what the picture at the buttom of the screen shows me is that its a space shooter. So yeah this game looks weird weird weird weird.
