An Obscure Gem
This game isn't very well known, but I would still classify it as an iconic PlayStation classic. It has a unique battle system where you basically string various attacks together to create a combo. Pre-set strings will unlock unique
and powerful attacks, so the system is fun to play around to see if you can discover new attacks. As well, you can absorb the magic attacks of your enemies and learn those spells yourself. Equipment is shown on the character models, which is nearly unheard of during the PlayStation's time. The graphics are a little rough nowadays, and honestly they were at the time of release, but the story is oddly touching in a sentimental melodramatic kind of way, and the game represents a world that's very much worth viewing and experiencing. It's a bit on the hard side, and boss battles are brutal, but with the existing battle system, victory is tremendously satisfying.
