An underrated gem
Ever since the release of the original Sim City (1989) the "simulation game" genre exploded. As a result we have had plenty of great (Simcity 2000, Sims, Rollercoaster Tycoon) and not so great (SimAnt, SimCopter) simulation games. Theme Park belongs in the former camp - a combination theme park sim (complete with cheesy looking cutscenes), managerial training sim, and corporate negotiations sim! All of the micro-managing the game has you do can be tedious at times (and is partly why I think this game didn't catch on more,) but once you get used to all of the different responsibilities attached to running your own theme park, it's an extremely rewarding game. As a youth, I enjoyed the game basically to watch how many patrons I could make vomit, or how many rides I could let explode out of disrepair - but as an adult all of the corporate haggling, hiring/firing and managerial minigames and settings can add to the difficulty level and leave you with a challenging, fun, colorful experience!
