WURM

This has got to be one of the most obscure games for the NES. It combines side scrolling action with a shoot em up and first person perspective boss fights all in one. The intriguing story is told through cinema scenes Ninja Gaiden style. It's also unique because during the boss fights you have to talk to your crew in the correct order to learn the proper way to defeat the boss. The game also has one of the deepest stories ever on the NES. The side scrolling sequences feel almost exactly like the Golgo 13 series. I would have probably only given it a 3 or 4 star rating only because each sequence is kinda short. But the game deserves credit for trying to be different and has a story that keeps you wanting to play to find out just exactly what is going on. Along with the heroine with 80s big green hair and red leotard they just didn't know when to stop. For you collectors out there it's worth picking up as it's in very short supply.
