Description

This is a brand new replacement thumbstick (or joystick if you prefer) for your original Nintendo 64 controllers! With this you can easily replace your loose and worn out thumbstick and get your controller working like new again! This is the flat design similar to the Gamecube thumbstick and is looser than the original.

Replacement joystick
If you have a broken Or very loose joystick, this is what you need. Super simple to install even if you are not techy.

Works amazing.
I have as of now bought two of these and they really do the trick. The original stick was stiff and broke easy, but this replacement is like a GameCube thumbstick and works great, easy to install if you have every worked with small electronics!

Almost perfect
These joysticks work great. They feel amazing compared to the stock old worn out joysticks I had. The sensitivity issue other people have mentioned does exist however. But let me explain it. With the original joystick, when you push it in any direction, and when the joystick gets to about 95% of full tilt, the game reads 100% in that direction. With the new joystick, the game reads 100% in that direction with only about 60%-70% of joystick tilt. It's not a problem in third person games. But for shooters it takes some getting used to. It will not make you turn around faster, but you will start turning sharper, sooner. That being said, games like goldeneye with auto aim are quite manageable, but it requires getting used to. Games without auto aim are more difficult to manage, but not impossible (e.g. south park). And other games like turok, let you adjust the sensitivity so you can soften this effect to make it feel normal. Other than that, the joysticks perform like a dream come true!

Great Joystick!
I think these joysticks are perfect. I tested them out with Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart 64. The joystick felt great. Of course, the feel isn't EXACTLY like a brand new N64 controller joystick, but it's probably 95% there, which is amazing. And perhaps more importantly, it feels much much better than my old loose joystick. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade.

Great N64 joystick replacement
Got this over a month ago and I have to say I love the feel of this joystick. I've tried it with different types of games to see how it works and I've found out that its super sensitive. However, it works well with fighting games like Killer Instinct Gold, most racing games, wrestling games, and any first person shooter where you can adjust the stick sensitivity. Not sure what its like for Mario 64 or any other Mario game (don't own any) but overall I think its a great replacement.

Works great
While I was confused when I received them (I was expecting original thumbsticks), the thumbsticks work as advertised. They are reminiscent of Gamecube thumbsticks, which is not a bad thing. The one complaint I have is of the image, as at a glance it looks like an original thumbstick (which it isn't).

Not a bad idea
So my original n64 controller joystick wore out to the point where the joystick would not return to the center, the spring is work out internally. So this replacement isn't 100% like the original in terms of appearance, it's slightly different as you will see, still blends nicely though once on. Install was super easy, open the controller unplug old one put in new one. 5 mins later done! Works perfect.

Love it
This seems to be the best option for replacing dead sticks for the N64. Seems tight and hopefully it holds up!

feels good, not perfect
I had high hopes for this to play smash, but it isn't quite up there. It feels great, but it sometimes doesn't properly register directional input correctly.I was hoping for a long-term replacement joystick, but it looks like I'll have to keep searching

Perfect Simple Replacement
Was super easy to install. Works great. A little shorter than the original joystick but within 2 minutes i forgot i was playing with any kind of different joystick and I was just enjoying my old n64 games that were otherwise unplayable with my mangled controllers. I ordered one to try it out but it works so well I'm about to order three more.

The Solution
I play competitive smash and have been looking for a permanent fix for my joysticks that all slowly wear out. I would practice with one controller and play in tournament with a different one to maintain a fresh joystick. But they all wear out eventually. I had read mixed reviews about these GameCube-style replacements on smashboards but I gave it a try. Pros: -It registers movement with no input lag, just like the OG sticks. Smash attacks feel great. -The maxes are farther. Never miss a dash, pivot, upsmash from dash again because of a crappy joystick. Also DI is insane with these if you're good at it. -Every movement option and attack is possible to do with this stick. -Installation is v easy. You don't need to sand or resize anything. Cons: -There's a tiny dead spot in the middle. So it doesn't register movement until a certain distance (very small) from the default position is reached. -The maximum input is reached before the maximum mechanical limit. This in combination with the small dead spot in the middle makes tilts a little hard to find at first. I also imagine this would make playing shooters (golden eye) or platforms (mario 64) frustrating at times, because slow moment is only registered at a tight spot along the mechanical tilt. I assume it's possible though. All in all, for smash (pretty much the only 64 game I play), this is the solution. With a little practice this stick is an advantage and it feels like will not wear out any time soon.

Must buy
This is a must upgrade for the N64! Much more durable and this is my second purchase of this style thumbstick. I first bought 2 to check it out, then, when everything worked, I bought a couple more. I have not had to do any sanding as other buyers have mentioned- It fits perfectly and install is simple, I watched a short 5 minute you tube video to get the run down. I've heard his only works to replace stick on original controllers.
