Splurge for the HDMI
I need to educate the Switch generation about glorious 90’s gaming! So, I decided to buy a N64 and spent the extra $ on HDMI conversion cables (not just for picture quality, but because it will make it infinitely easier to switch between this and the Switch, NES Classic, & SNES Classic.... I can’t say how well the cable works, yet, because I’m waiting to give the system to my 11 year old boy for Easter, and I’m hoping he is as excited to retro game with his mom as I was excited to receive this from my parents when I was his age.

Looks Great
I went with this adapter so I wouldn't have to bother at all with the component cables. The image looks much better on my 4k TV than I ever thought possible. It's not 100% clear, especially when it comes to text, but it is more than playable. The only real issue I have noticed is that there is about 0.5 seconds of input lag with my TV in game mode. I can't be 100% sure that it's the adapter, but that is my best guess. It's far from unplayable, just takes a little getting used to.
