I used to play this game as a kid a lot too. I honestly don't remember it being this tough. Yes, the president has been kidnapped by ninjas. They were big in those days, y'know. I don't really think ninjas ever go out of style, but whatever. There are 7 or 8 stages, each w/it's own boss. You will not be able to beat this game until you figure out how to fight the boss at the end of each level. If you can get through a level w/out dying, you get a 1-up, which if you accumulate enough help later on. I would just hit reset if you die within the 1st 3 levels or so. Watch out especially for the grey ninjas, they throw caltrops and shurikens at you and take two hits to die, unless you have a weapon. IF you get a weapon, all the ninjas are one hit kills('cept the bosses), and you should hold on to it for dear life. You even get to carry it on to the next level. Red ninjas drop the weapons and soda which restores your health. Ghetto but challenging and still somewhat fun. A forefather of later bro-ey fight games. As a kid my biggest gripe was that 2 player mode IS NOT simultaneous like on DoubleDragon II.

This game is tons of fun! The fact that you have to be a street brawler and beat up numerous ninjas and bosses is the lick. I received this game today from Lukie Games and after a brief cleaning it worked fine. The weapons are great to have to make chop suey of those ninjas and i got to the 3rd level boss tonight within 45 mins of playing. Take this game into consideration while shopping, it's pretty good. The title of the game says it all!! "BAD DUDES". Thanks Lukie Games!

A cool beat em up classic. Game is ok but it lacks a choice of weapons that you may be able to use. Better played with 2 players simultaneously.

I had this game as a kid and I loved it. It hasn't aged as well as other NES classics, but it's still fun to play. It's not bad for an NES port of an arcade title and the voice sound effect when you beat each level ("I'm BAD!") is hilariously awful! It's still fun to play!

Bad Dudes is one of those "ninjas have kidnapped the president" type games made by Data East. This game is one of the earlier Beat 'em Ups, and many people have nostalgic feelings associative with this game. Overall, I don't particularly like this one, as it feels slow paced, and has funky controls. The best part of this game is the wacky story, which is hardly believable, but still hilarious.
