Beauty & the Beast
Game worked great. Just had to clean it up a bit with rubbing alcohol, but that's expected on any older game. Can't wait to play it more with my daughter.

A big let down
I really wanted to like this game. It had everything goin for it.....good music, good sound effects, colorful graphics, and it was made by Hudson soft. So how could this possibly be bad? Well the minute I picked up that controller and started playing it I realized I had been deceived. The control is HORRIBLE!!! The controls are delayed which means you have to time your attacks early just to kill minor enemies like bats and spiders. Your playing with Beast for fuck sake!!!! All he has is a pathetic little slash and an awkward looking "stomp". But as soon as you get to the platforming section of the game is when the game's biggest and most unforgivable flaw is revealed. Beast has the worst "jump" ability iv ever seen. Instead of jumping with some foward momentum like Mario, Mega Man, or just about any other character in a video game, Beast jumps straight up.....with very little foward momentum. This is a Huge problem because the game requires precise platforming. Why Hudson programmed it this way I have no clue but it makes some parts of the game EXTREMELY frustrating and almost impossible. Hudson Soft seriously dropped the ball on this one. Maybe they should have let Capcom take the reigns on this one.

Another great Disney game
If your looking for some entertaining side-scrolling, look no further. Although this game was developed by Hudson, it can easily compete with the Disney Virgin and Capcom titles. I must mention the game has a very dark atmosphere, making it difficult to see at times. The platforming is a nuisance because the beast can't perform accurate jumps, and the hit detection is bad (awkward "Beast" punches), though far better than that of the Genesis title Roar of the Beast (if you've tried it out). The game can easily be beaten with practice and is extremely generous with continues and health until later levels. It's about the same length as Lion King or Aladdin, about an hour if you know what your doing. Overall, it's a very enjoyable game.
