Description
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow for DS, the first in Konami's legendary Castlevania series for the new portable system, will continue the storyline that first emerged in the critically acclaimed Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. Taking place a year after Aria of Sorrow ended, the game's protagonist - Soma Cruz - finds himself at the center of a mysterious cult's plan to resurrect their evil lord and master, Dracula. In order to save himself and those closest to him, Soma must infiltrate a castle belonging to a cult that is planning to resurrect Lord Dracula. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow lets you defeat evil spirits using the "Magic Seal" system which utilizes the Nintendo DS touch screen. You can trade captured souls with other players using the wireless system as well.

Great game with a caveat
The game itself is excellent. Had it way back in 2012 and decided to sell it to a friend, breaking up my collection. Bite the bullet and decided to buy it. Manual, cover and box are top-notch. The game plays great, but... and this is a big but, might be a fake. Complies with all but one check, one that is very difficult to verify. It has written, on the back, in white letters Nintendo 001-01 Only a handful -like 15 games- have this written, and all released before 2006. This was released on 2005 so I'm still hopeful, but it does not appear on any of the lists of games that had Nintendo written in the back, in white letters, just above the pins. The pins are correct, the quality of the cart itself, the label, the small triangle in the front, the lettering in the upper back, the seams at the top and sides.., everything else checks for that matter.

Castlevania : Dawn of Sorrow
Awesome game, the best of the three on Nintendo DS by my opinion. As Soma Cruz, who can control the power of souls defeated, you must fight against a Cult who want to revive Dracula.

It's a new classic for me.
As a fan of old 2D Castlevanias, and even more since Symphony of the Night. This game is really great. This is a must buy if you're a Castlevania fan or not.

Garlic doesn't work EVERY time.
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow is the sequel to the Game Boy Advance predecessor, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. You're put into the role of Soma Cruz, who isn't happy when a cult decides to try to revive Dracula. So going to the castle, it is up to Soma to get rid of the nuisance and make sure the world is all hunky dory again. Story: (3.5/5) Unlike its predecessor, there's enough to stir the pot, but not enough to add flavor. The objective is made clear: To destroy the cult that wishes to revive Dracula. Not much to it! Graphics: (5/5) The graphics are impressive and detailed on the Nintendo DS. Animations are complete, nothing choppy whatsoever. Environments are made exactly like they should be. Detailed and vibrant enough to suck the player in to set the mood of where Soma is at in the castle. Sound:(5/5) Can't only have graphics set the mood. If the audio doesn't go with it, then you have nothing. The audio is crisp, very mood setting, and excellent for the game. Controls: Wonderfully done as well. They are mapped perfectly for the player's ease of access. The touch screen is mostly used for boss battles, and it is the perfect mix thereof. So for those who doesn't want to use a touch screen too much, you'll love this. Gameplay: (5/5) If you've played a castlevania since Symphony of the Night, you know the drill on this. If not, it is an action/adventure game with role play elements, such as Hit Points, Defense, and equipping different armors and weapons. One difference though. This game brings in the "soul" system. There are three sets of souls that Soma can equip to further progress himself further inside the castle. You obtain these Souls by defeating enemies. The increased quantity of the soul, the more powerful Soma can use it. Overall:(4.8/5) This is a solid title, you can look for 15-25 hours of gameplay into this game. There are plenty of different modes and such to play as, so it'll take your time, and hopefully you'll survive!
