Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition

Got the game in no time and works perfectly.

Devil May Cry 3 was a game I was looking forward to before I even played it. I've played Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 2 and while Devil May Cry was a fun beat-em-up Devil May Cry 2 just fell flat. BUT this game gets so much right and MORE. First of all the gameplay steals the show. If you played the other games you will feel right at home with this one but once you have played a few levels, upgraded moves, gained new weapons, and learned the ins and outs of the different styles you will be in a whole new ball game. It's fast and difficult but in a good way. The fact that the only way to make your style meter go up is to keep changing your combos is brilliant! You will never be bored and this is one of the few games where you will get a real-life adrenaline rush just from one fight. It's THAT fun! Also this is the best story out of the other Devil May Crys and the cutscenes are a joy to watch, mostly because of the characters. And by characters I mean Dante. You will LOVE this guy by the end of the first level. The word bad@$$ is all around him. His dialog is some of the best I have ever heard. He's cocky but you still root for him. Not to mention his interactions with the other characters in the cutscenes whether it's an enemy or ally he is awesome. He has no fear and decides to play with the bosses and enemies which you will be doing. Which by the way the bosses are pretty well done. Better than Devil May Cry 2 and about the same level as Devil May Cry. Now another thing about THIS Devil May Cry 3 is that it's the Special Edition. What new features do you get in this version you ask? Well for starters the regular version was difficult....REALLY difficult. They actually put the Japanese hard mode in the North American normal mode. So after much frustration the difficulty is fined tuned now so it's not as hard, but that won't stop the game from bringing all its got. Another addition is a BIG one, the ability to play as Dante's brother Virgil (who plays a big role in the story). Virgil does not have his own story aside from the two cutscenes in the beginning but it's still a cool addition. You also get a new difficulty mode, Very Hard, but this is basically the Hard mode in the original due to the original having much harder difficulty. You also have the option in the beginning between Gold and Yellow. They don't really tell you what it is but really Gold let's you use infinite continues and lets you hold 3 gold orbs which will revive you on the spot if you die. Yellow is how it was in the original where if you die the only way to get a continue is if you get a yellow orb and you can hold 99 of these (Gold orbs don't exist in this mode). You also get new costumes, rebuffed enemies, and more (optional) chances to fight the Jester. If you want a game to be the prize of your collection it's this. You will not be disappointed. Gameplay is perfect, Dante and the cutscenes are highly memorable, and one thing I didn't mention is the great soundtrack which gives the game amazing atmosphere. One of the best action games ever made and you will regret never buying it.
