Dino Crisis 3

First off, let me start by saying this: I can't deny that this game has problems. But I love this game. The game lacks in enemy variety in terms of dinosaurs, there's only 3 different species not including the bosses. But considering that this game takes place in a giant spaceship or whatever the proper term is, I understand the lack of variety. So, given the environment, don't expect to see any flying dinosaurs. There are some drone-like enemies that shoot lasers and some that are basically homing bombs though. There are around maybe 5 boss fights. I won't say what species they all are. But let's just say that you can't have a dinosaur game without the species T-rex. My favroite boss fight happens a little after the halfway point of the game. The boss fights are my favorite part of the game for sure. The graphics, at the time this game launched, were very impressive. Sadly, this game doesn't look nowhere near as good as it used to because of how much better graphics have advanced. The worst part of the game is the damn camera, and I'm pretty sure nobody would argue against that. You can't control the camera whatsoever. The camera view will shift to different angles depending on where you are at all times. You start the game with a jetpack type device that lets you boost forwards, backwards, and will let you hover if you activate it while jumping. And like I said, the camera view changes itself when moving and if you change directions when the camera shifts your movement direction can disorient itself causing you all sorts of movement issues. It can be very frustrating because there are a lot of elevated areas in the game and it can cause you to miss certain parts of the environment you're trying to get to. It's especially frustrating when missing a jump in a puzzle or elevated area. Having said that, there are different types of weapons, like shotgun-type ammo, homing missiles, etc. You do have the ability to switch to first-person perspective to manually aim and shoot wherever you want. The only downside to that is you can't actually move when using this perspective, you're stationary. If you're not using this perspective, whenever you shoot your weapon, it will automatically target enemies, you can't control that. So all in all, I love this game, it's a ton of fun, but the camera can be really frustrating. Hopefully this helps.

My "complete" copy arrived ahead of schedule, brand new and factory sealed. This is like like the 3rd time in 3 orders that they have shipped me completely new software mixed in with the bulk. I was so pleased that it was this game, too. There's something awesome about tearing the shrink wrap and sticker seal off a 17 year old game. Also worth noting, my order arrived ahead of schedule. I must confess, the game does take some getting used to. The camera wants to fight your seeing what you need to fight back against to in order to survive, and it transitions abruptly at the worst times. I don't care, but you might. I have adjusted to it and i love exploring the transformer ship while being hunted by mutated dinos. I've said it before, and I'll say it once more, if you're not buying your games from Lukie you're doing it wrong. Game over. Press start to continue.

First off, the game arrived in perfect condition and very quickly, so I have to display my appreciation towards customer service. Thank all if you at Lukie Games. That aside, on to this game. I have been a huge Dino Crisis fan since the first installment and spent several hours playing the first two with seemingly endless enthusiasm. Dino Crisis 3, however proved to be more frustrating than enjoyable. The visuals are nothing less than stunning and the gameplay is surprisingly swift for it's genre (Resident Evil). Alas, the camera angle will be your toughest opponent throughout the entire game. Fixed camera positions, that I assume were designed to build suspense, will leave you often firing at enemies off screen. Even jumps from one platform to another can leave you wanting to hurl your controller at the screen as the camera angle will switch to a completely different view just as you launch into the air. The concept is fresh (if a little strange) and the idea of navigating through transforming Rubik's cube of a ship intrigued me. But trust me when I say that the camera itself will have you continually searching to regain a sense of direction and constantly checking your map as well as blindly fighting for dear life. Check other online reviews of this game before subjecting yourself to the "worst camera ever."
