This Remake is Worth It!
Final Fantasy VI is the best FF game in the franchise (FF7 fans, move aside!). It was the first game to take the story in a different direction than the traditional collecting of elemental crystals. It had a struggle against a tyrannical empire, morally ambiguous characters, cool ATB system (new at the time!), and fantastic music by Nobuo Uematsu.
Now, this isn't the first re-release of this game and it won't the last. However this was the first game to come with a re-translated story -- which is *much* better than the SNES version. Though the SNES translation was good the GBA version is cleaned up which actually had me say "that's what they meant!" to lines that seemed odd and nonsensical in the original version.
If you were to buy just one version of this game, I would recommend the GBA version. The graphics have aged very well, the re-translated story is worth it, and it plays great on the DS Lite.
