Not worth it
Full Auto 2 is one of those games I picked up a few years ago desperate for a new arcadey racer and was hoping for a hidden gem, but man is it disappointing. Psuedo Interactive's racing engine is clunky and heavy -- all these cars drive like boats, that are prone to spinning out -- and the combat mechanics are messy. Its never satisfying to shoot anybody or kill them with grenades or anything; Twisted Metal this ain't. Nor does it even feature ramming, a la Burnout or Ridge Racer Unbounded, which would've been much better. Tracks look okay for being a PS3 launch window title, but the textures are a little muddy/blurry by the standards of later games, and lighting is pretty flat. The bigger problem is artistic, since there's no clear choice to signpost destructible assets from solid ones that will cause you to crash. To top it off, AI drivers are RUTHLESS and only target you. They threw a time rewind function in here awkwardly as a band-aid, but literally nothing works great in this game and you'll quickly tire of trying to find something good here. The destruction looks okay and the battle arenas are passable, I guess? This is worth skipping. There are much better car combat games, combat racing games, and arcadey racers out there... even on PS3. Nab Blur if you're looking for something conceptually similar but GOOD.
