Game Boy Advance Link Cable

I remember as a kid, these things sucked. It didn’t matter the brand, they would break or be unreliable. But this one works great. I have tested between two original gameboy advances, two gameboy sp’s, and even between a digital pocket and a gameboy sp and this cable works perfectly without breaking when I switch between consoles.

In 2019 I purchased two Tomee GBA link cables. As of today November 22 2021 I have finally opened them in an attempt to connect 2 GBAs to trade pokemon, but sadly it seems that neither of these cords work properly.

Was super excited to get this, only for it to not work. At first it plugged in to one of my gameboys on one end after a bit of force and I got it to work, but the other end didn't. Switched them, and neither worked. Switched it back again, and neither will work still, even after numerous attempts. These things are cheap as hell, and they require force to actually plug in properly. Mine broke without getting a single trade out of it. It was only 10 bucks so I'm not surprised, but I'm very disappointed.

I got this bad boy to make sure my brother in law’s Christmas present was authentic - old Pokemon GBA cartridges - one of the chief issues with the knock-offs was trade incompatibility, so I hooked his up to my GBA SP and conducted the trade. Not exactly seamless, but it was better than anticipated. The cable connection is SNUG. I was so anxious that once I got both ends plugged in, the cable wasn’t going to come back out - that fit is TIGHT. The cord doesn’t sit exactly right in the port, so the first attempt to trade disconnected rather abruptly. I had to reset both game boys about 3 times to get the cable secured properly in both ports, and proceeded to hold my breath the entire trade. But, as stated, it worked! Just be aware to use caution the first few times you plug in and unplug this cable on both sides. You wouldn’t want to rip your port out of your GBA being to hasty.

You do have to wiggle it in a bit and force it into the game boy but it does fit and at first, it wasn’t working but then I just switched the wires and it started working.

Poor quality. Was able to use only a few times before the cord broke off from the plug-in piece.

I’ve spent weeks trying to find a cable the had more than a 2-3 star review online. Was a bit skeptical with this one but I received it within a few days and it seems to work fine. Connection is a bit weak and you have to make sure it’s plugged in well, but besides that I’m a happy customer!

Regarding Brandon's review from 2014, you cannot use this link cable for Gameboy Color games, only Advance games, even if you're using and Advance/SP. Color games require a separate link cable.
