God Hand

On the surface, God Hand has graphics that are pretty bad by PS2 standards and a awkwardly place over the shoulder camera angle that can't be changed. When you look passed these things, however, you find one of the most unique and high qualities beat em-ups of all time. The sound track isn't particularly dynamic, but it surf-rock tunes set the right tone for the gameplay. The easy to understand but difficult to master controls are where this game really shines. Dozens and dozens of moves which can all be mapped to whatever buttons and combinations that fit your play style. While at times insanely challenging, God Hand is always fair in its difficulty, and all enemies can be conquered with the right strategy. The story is bizarre and relies heavily on humor. Not the best narrative in gaming history, but entertaining, and certainly head-scratchingly memorable. If you like the beat-em-up genre, this game is simply a must-own. Clearly I love hyphens.

This is the best hand to hand fighting games that didn't sell well because of it being hard. Once you get the hang of it you will have untold amounts of fun with this game. The fighting system is something that was never done before and is still not in any fighter. This is a buried Capcom gem please help uncover this gem and expose it to the world.
