Description

Hockey just doesn't get any more thrilling than this. In the world of NHL Hitz 20-03, hard-checking and highlight-reel action is common. This year's installment in the action-packed NHL Hitz series showcases three-on-three gameplay with players who leap, glide, check, pass, and score on defenders. Like all NHL Hitz games, NHL Hitz 20-03 features gameplay modes for up to 6 players, in-game fights and hidden teams, players and stadiums. The game will also feature Create-A-Player modes and mini-games. What's not to love?

Great early 00s "extreme sports" game
What a fantastic trip down memory lane (college dorm life to be exact) playing NHL Hitz 2003. Note, it DOES work on an Xbox 360, though the Franchise Mode doesn't seem to save/load but everything else does including full season/playoff modes. For lovers of NFL Blitz style games, this is great. Not much difference between the Xbox and PS2 versions gameplay wise. 3-on-3 hockey before it became a real thing in NHL, great simple control scheme of "rock paper scissor" style where 360 spins, huge body checks, stick checks, etc can all be used to thwart your opponent. For a real challenge against AI try "All Star" mode...if you really enjoy fast tempo hockey games/sports games crafting plays on the fly to score this game was really ahead of its time and SO MUCH MORE FUN than those EA Games NHL titles or Sega Sports "2K" titles. I'll probably have to get "NHL Hitz Pro" after this one to see what 5 on 5 hockey is like for this series. Great game, no idea why the series wasn't more popular and why it hasn't been brought back to life since 2005. C'mon Midway Games!
