Nintendo DS Lite - Blue / Black System

Everything seemed to work great except the microphone,the ds looked very clean and I got everything that came with it including the stylus and the charger for said handheld game console.

I received the “GREAT” condition DS Lite today. Upon initial inspection, it had some… stuff around the battery compartment, a considerable amount of smear and a film on the screens, the bottom screen fairly scratched and ultimately, a few more scratches and dings throughout than I think I am comfortable with in calling “GREAT” as the description read. The top screen has two fairly gnarly scratches, like it got pounded with the stylus on the non-touch screen. The whole unit was exceptionally dirty. I cleaned the entire thing with some rubbing alcohol. Upon removing the rear battery door, I discovered what may have been some slight spillage. Not enough to activate the liquid sticker from what I can tell, but the battery and the area under the battery were fairly sticky. I was a little nervous about it powering on. It did however and the screens both worked. After inserting a DS cartridge I know works on a 3DS unit, it would not load. I tried another, same thing. I cleaned the pins and the slot with some alcohol and a swab and then reinserted the first DS cartridge. That appeared to do the trick. It now reads DS cards. The GBA slot worked on the first try. I did like that it came with the GBA slot guard, the buttons all appear to work and the top of the unit is in relatively good condition, but when all of the previously mentioned shortcomings combine with the white scrape and chip that are on the outside shell, I am struggling to agree with the rating it has been given. Ultimately, I think I’ll end up using this as more of a traveling system, but I’ll probably end up doing some more physical searches and purchasing a better quality unit from a local video game reseller.

The one I got has a couple of minor cosmetic issues that bug me a little bit. For one, the top screen has this faded blackened mark in it, seeming to be from internal damage to the screen. It's not too noticeable, and when I'm playing games that have lighter colors on the screen it's almost unnoticeable, but it is distracting. The outside of the top screen (where the blue coloring is) also has a couple of scuffs that I can't get out, like it was dropped or smacked against something. And this is very inconsistent and hardly bothersome but the right speaker seems to cut out every now and again if only for a second. Like the review header says, the system works perfectly fine and is 100% usable even in its less than stellar cosmetic condition. And while these issues don't make me all that unhappy seeing as 99% of the time Lukie provides top quality products, I do feel like if the DS I bought was in this kind of shape it probably would've been less misleading if it were categorized under the "Discounted" section.

Received the system in a good amount of time, very minimal imperfections to the unit which are unnoticeable unless you really look. Plays great, happy to have a good device to play my DS and GBA games now. Always very satisfied with Lukie Games quality and prices.

I have been using my DS for a year now and it still works great. Ordered and and delivered w/o difficulty. System in great condition w/ only a few minor scratches that I have to work really hard to notice. Many Many hours of fun gameplay on this little machine taking me back to my childhood days. It didn't take too long too arrive & came in great condition. It just had a few tiny light scratches on the front, the screens were clear with no defects & the touch screen works great. Came with a charger in box & a stylus too. I bought this as a gift & couldn't be happier. This is my first purchase from Lukie Games & I'll definitely be buying from here again :)

After two awful experiences with Game Stop that gave me a system had a non-working volume slide and a charger that didn't work. I gave Lukie Games a shot at my business. I couldn't be happier! The system was in the condition stated and everything that expected to work did! I'm now searching the site for games that I fondly remember and those I hadn't had a chance to try.

Item is in excellent, like-new condition and works perfectly. My grandson plays with it every day. Item arrived by mail in a very timely manner.
