Description

An entire planet becomes your laboratory in this large-scale simulation game. Players help foster new life and promote its evolution into life forms of higher intelligence. Guide civilization along the path of evolution until it can achieve Exodus, the ultimate goal of settling on another planet. Making a drastic change is a recipe for disaster. The key to success is to make small adjustments and see how the life forms react. SimEarth also includes planets with environments different from Earth, such as Mars and Venus.

Not for the faint of heart
I love this game. However if you do not like sim games, or do not have the time and patience to play a very very slow game then this one might not be for you. If you enjoy science and would like to directly effect the evolution of a planet from a giant water ball to a thriving green/blue paradise this game is for you

Excellent!
I was super excited when I found this game for the SNES. I loved playing it and seeing the connections between the different systems of the Earth - how tectonic plate movement influenced life form diversity, how rainfall influences temperatures, etc. - and I was surprised and very delighted that it had been ported to the SNES. So far, it is exactly as I remember! Definitely not recommended for casual play, it will be boring for people who don't understand the Gaia concept or who want a quick, fun game. This game deals with evolution on a planetary scale, meaning billions of years. It will be long. But super perfect!
