Super Mario Strikers

Tackling your friends and throwing power ups at each other is fun and funny. I laughed so hard when one of my friends jumped from losing at sudden death and accidently knocked my GameCube console off the shelf. The console was still working fine nothing broke. I would've been a little upset but if it broke but still laugh from my friend's reaction to losing. LOL. Get this game I highly recommend.

I give this game 5 stars because it was my childhood game back then for the GameCube I hope it will arrive in a few days so I can start kicking some ass in soccer lol

Super Mario Strikers isn't the perfect Mario sports game but it is quite a bit of fun. The premise of the game is simple: soccer. What's fun about this game is that before each match you pick your captain, one of the many heroes of the Mario universe, followed by the side characters as the rest of the team (toads, koopas, hammer bros, etc). During the game, the captain of the team can charge up a shot that is much more difficult to block. The captain is the only character that can power up unless you play with the unlockable robot team. What makes the game stand out is that it rewards strategic play over a more brutal/violent play. Yes, you can trip your opponent to steal the ball but unnecessary trips will result in giving the opposing team a special item that they can use against you. Play too aggressively and you will hand them the game on a golden platter. It is better to play smart. Why does this game not deserve a 5-star rating? For one, it is not a perfect party game because it only supports 2 players. The Gamecube having 4 ports and the fact that soccer has many players on the field would make it a perfect 4-player game... sadly Nintendo (or Next Level Games) did not agree. Also, the game can be pretty frustrating with its random number generator. Sometimes it feels like the goaltender is impossible to beat but will then let the most trivial shots go in. All in all Mario Strikers is a fun game that is worth buying to play with your friends. Despite its flaws you will have many hours of fun and laughter.

This is an AMAZING game for the gamecube. PROS: The controls are very simple, yet effective to play the game. If you don't like soccer, it doesn't matter, because in soccer you don't throw giant green shells at the other team to knock them into the electric fence that surrounds the field.I could go on and on. CONS: ..... your keeper is a CPU, and sometimes the CPU really sucks. You can loose games by your terrible keeper.

Great addition to the Mario sports series. Can be extremely easy it extremely difficult. Great game to play with friends.

this game does what all mario sports games do; it takes a somewhat complex mechanic and simplifies it so everyone can enjoy. however, though the game is easy to pick up, it does have a deep undertone of strategy. like super smash bros, this game does well at keeping things easy to understand without giving up some hardcore tactics. i don't like sports games, but i've always liked the mario spinoffs offered by nintendo. my only complaint about this one is that you really need some friends to play with in order to get the most entertainment.
