An underrated classic.
Released a full year before the Sega Genesis, and a whopping 3 years before the Super Nintendo, the NEC PC Engine/Turbografx 16 was a gigantic hit in Japan. And it was the first console to feature CD-ROM games. Unfortunately the US release was botched, and the European release basically didn't happen at all. But even still, 138 games were brought over with hundreds more Japanese titles available with use of an adapter or region modified console. And of course all the CD-ROM games available, which aren't region locked at all. Anyhoo, I'm not sure why but the Tubografx games seem to have a hypnotic fun factor. Games like Blazing Lazers, Dungeon Explorer, Bomberman, Parasol Stars; very easy to get lost and enjoy for hours. My 9 year old loves it too.
