Official Dreamcast VMU Memory Card

VMU works great after changing the battery. I was hoping to get the standard grey but I’m still happy with my purchase.

The VMU sent to me does not work on battery power, it has to be plugged into the controller. At the very least, I can save games successfully. However, I like to have items that work as they are intended to while I build up my collection.

The casing and everything looked really nice and almost new. However when putting in new batteries I noticed the VMU turning on/off on its own. Also wasn't keeping the date/time set. Finally I decided to open the case up and there was heavy corrosion on both sides of the metal contact. I unscrewed it from the board and used a micro flathead screw driver and scraped it clean and used a cloth to wipe it off. After doing that I popped the batteries back in and the screen now works well. So if you get one of these and there are old batteries inside, might need to clean up the contact for it to work properly.

Purchased as a gift, works great with no problems. There was a small mark on the screen of the memory card, but the received said it wasn't a big deal and is still fully functional. Even came with some games!

The product picture shows four VMUs of various colors. I thought this was a bundle that included all four VMUs in all the colors shown. At the bottom of the description, it states, "This listing is for ONE VMU memory card, color will vary." It is completely my fault for not reading the description closely, but just be wary that this listing is a little deceptive. I was disappointed when I received just one white VMU.

I’m going to sound like a paid ad, but Lukie is simply great. 100% satisfied. I bought a Dreamcast through Amazon and was dismayed to see I could have been saving money with! Needless to say, I jumped ship! I’ve bought several VMU, a controller and a microphone through Lukie and have been extremely pleased with price, speed of delivery but most of all performance, which is all important in game stuff. The DC is almost twenty years old, but everything I have ordered works perfectly. Some local vendors do offer DC accessories but aside from a 45 minute drive one way the price is nearly triple of what Lukie asks. I can’t speak for all retro consoles, but my experience has been overwhelmingly positive, no question. I did have to contact customer service because I wanted to buy a fairly rare retro console they simply didn’t have in stock. The email reply was prompt and seemed informed on the subject. Slightly disappointing, but if they don’t have any in stock than that’s simply how it is. The point I’m getting at is that even then Lukie was above and beyond professional. I fully plan to give them all of my retro gaming dollars from here on out. Top marks all around.
